Day 6
Starting the Adventure
Upon arrival in Moshi, Tanzania, you’ll have a briefing with your guides and a chance to prepare for the climb. The journey officially begins at the Marangu Gate (1,860 meters) within Kilimanjaro National Park. The first day’s trek is through the lush rainforest, and you’ll reach the Mandara Hut (2,700 meters) for your overnight stay.
Forest to Moorland
The second day’s hike continues through the rainforest, and you’ll eventually emerge into the moorland zone. This day’s destination is Horombo Hut (3,720 meters), where you’ll spend the night.

Acclimatization at Horombo
Day 3 is for acclimatization, crucial for adapting to the altitude. You’ll take a hike to Zebra Rocks, where you can enjoy fantastic views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Return to Horombo Hut for another night’s rest.
The Alpine Desert
As you ascend, the landscape changes, and you’ll experience the beauty of the alpine desert. You’ll reach Kibo Hut (4,700 meters) in the afternoon and rest early in preparation for the summit attempt.
Uhuru Peak
In the wee hours of the morning, you’ll start the trek to the summit. The journey is challenging, but the reward is the breathtaking sunrise from Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa. After reaching the summit, you’ll descend to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest.
Descending to Marangu Gate
On the final day, you’ll descend from Horombo Hut back to the Marangu Gate, where your successful journey to the “Roof of Africa” concludes. A certificate of achievement awaits you before heading back to Moshi
